If you can dream it, you can do it.
I always told that anything is possible. I moved to the United States 15 years ago when my dad said that we were moving for better opportunities. He wanted more for me and my two sisters professionally and believed we could do anything.
I was born where palm trees sway and Caribbean beaches thrive. I am from the little island in the Caribbean known as the Dominican Republic, and have been living in North Carolina since then. I love North Carolina. I love this land of pines, the beaches, the mountains, the people, and the opportunity.
By moving from one country to another, I learned about the power of change, culture and education. I attained a passion for communications and a desire to become an icon for the Hispanic community I represent. In college, I tried to be involved in my community by becoming a member of extracurricular activities and clubs and working at the Student Union, where I managed events and worked with people.

I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication with a concentration in Public Relations.
My passion for writing and problem-solving led me to major in journalism and communications. I wrote my first novel when I was 13 after my grandfather advised me that writing would help me to express myself. He noticed I needed an outlet since I was such an expressive child. I took creative writing classes during my time in college and fell in love with books. I wrote many stories and I did them all over coffee (Coffee addict here!). I enjoyed the time I spent in the UNC Journalism school, where I learned to analyze my community strategically but most of all, I fell in love with writing stories about people and community impact.
I have over 8 years of experience in working in my field. My skills in communications and journalism have excelled to digital marketing. I currently work for BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina as communications advisor where I write stories, I strategize and work with various departments to lift their communication practices. I have been working there since July 2020 and I am loving every minute of it! I thoroughly enjoy working for a company that makes a difference in the lives of North Carolinians. I’m always searching for ways to excel professionally and hope to in the near future, obtain a Masters degree or a digital marketing certification, because, why not? The only way is up!
